Let me introduce myself – my name is Pete Gunderson, owner of Gunderson Construction. I am a 57 year old contractor/carpenter, have owned my own business for 34 years, and have been building custom homes in the Flathead Valley for 32 years. I learned the carpentry trade as a boy, working for my father. After graduating from high school, four years of college and two years working for the U.S. Forest Service, I decided to go back to my roots as an independent builder. I have not regretted the choice; it has been right for me ever since. I especially enjoy working one-on-one with clients. It is always interesting and exciting to walk a client’s property for the first time and help them plan their homesite and start the process. Building and completing a quality finished product and having a happy homeowner is very satisfying.
